Parrots
Double yellow amazon, pair of Half moon Conures, 2 pairs of cockatiels, pair of Lutino ringneck parakeets.
I have a 7 month old double yellow headed amazon parrot right now. I am thinking of getting a baby caique. What is the chance they will get along and what is the chance something bad will happen?!?!?!?!? They wouldn't be in the same cage or any thing. If I don't get a caique there is some one that wants to give me a blue front amazon. I don't have much information on the bird yet, but would two amazons get along? The amazon I have now is very tame and 7 months old. Would an older amazon get along with him? And again, they would not be on the same cage, perch....What do you guys think about this?

Thanks a lot :green::green::green::green::green::green::green::green::green:

This all depends upon the birds. Just like with us humans, sometimes you meet a person you do not like and then again you may meet someone you like. It is the same with companion birds. Just make sure you are aware of the quarantine needs and the need for an exam by an avain vet for both birds.

Am going to look at a blue front amazon soon.:green::green::green:

I had 2 Amazons & they got along great. I just kept the initial meetings between cages. I also let each bird, see me handle the other while the second bird was contained. Just be cautious with Amazons later in life. Sexual aggression towards us, is a painful reminder, they are a wild animal...LOL

I will put there cages right next to each other and let them just look at each other for a while be for I try taking them out together, they will never live in a cage together because I know they can get very aggressive.
