ok so i have seen every ones beautiful java trees and looked up prices

i wasnt aware exactly what they were made from (blonde) and googled to find out (duh java = coffee).

well i have a coffee plantation about 30min down the road. i rang them today to enquire what they do with their dead/ no longer producining trees and the the branchesvthey prune off. i was infirmed that they just mulch them (but it not a frequent thing as they last a while), she asked why i was enquiring and i explained it to her. she laughed and told me i must have esp as they gad some trees that werent producing well and have just been transplanted. she is going to put some aside for me (not sure if tree or just branches) for me to pick up on the week end.

so now i have just got a major score but need some ideas on what to do with them exactly so my fids will have a ball whether i am getting trees or branches.

thank you all in advance, im so excited:D

Oh WOW!!! How lucky !

I have emailed at least 5 coffee growers in Australia and they all told me they did not have any old trees for sale! :(

I would do anything for a tree for Fargo, if i cant get one in Australia, i will hopefully be able to ship one from America sometime this year :)

try contacting "whitsunday gold". that is who im going to see on the weekend (im not paying for them :) ) Coffee trees last for years and the coffee industry in oz is quite new (i am/ was a barista so well informed regarding coffee germination etc). i got lucky as they had some trees in front of the coffee shop that werent doing to well and were transplanted yesterday. Maybe give them a call and leave them your contact details for next time. im not sure if im getting whole trees or just branches. she asked me how many and i said 2-3, if it happens to turn out that they whole trees and i end up with 3, ill let u know and if u pay the postage ill send 1 to u, or better yet you an fargo can come up to beautiful bowen and pick it up :p

Thank you soo much!! That would be fantastic
I will give them a call sometime, would be alot better than shipping from America :)

I am sure Fargo would love to go on a road trip :p hehe

Cant wait to see what you come back with! :D

Trees would be fantastic, think how much money you would save! haha

Hahaha! You can take the rain back, although i am so glad the hot summer is finally over!
I am so paranoid now, as soon as it rains i think- oh no.. it is going to flood and i wont have any power again! :09:

It would be quite a drive though wouldnt it?

so today was the day. i woke up all excited to be getting a java tree/ branches. when i got to the plantaion the ladyat the counter informed me that they wete out the back under the mango tree so just help myself. i thought you little ripper, im gonna squeeze as much in my little car as i could so as i had plenty and could send some down to tab and fargo. i go out to the mango tree and my heart sank :( alk that was out there were twig, would have been great if i had a budgie, but not for 3 very destructive alexs let alone fargo.

after speaking with the lady at the counter she informed that their coffee trees are dwarf trees. so no java tree for my babies or fargo (sorry tab and fargo), but i did get an amazing coffee.

the lady went onto mention she has a guava tree and even before its dry its like petrified wood its that hard and also twisty. i havent looked into whether or not its safe for our feathered friends but sounds perfect for a playstand if it is.
