1. Green Ring Neck parrot.
Hi everyone. I posted a week or two ago asking if anyone knew if my bird was female or male. my bird is nearly 15 weeks old and has a really bright green ring around it's neck which is now really visible to see. See photos. Do all have this ring then suddenly go dark if male ?

I have had my bird 2 weeks this Saturday and he is one Clever baby. He is Tweeting, making loud Squeak sounds, whistles and even tried to say Hello today :D cant believe it.

He is hand trained, still only with gloves, but he is happy and so am i ;) he will jump on and off my hand out the cage and in the cage. He lets me stroke his back his tummy rub his head and tickle under his chin. He lets me stroke his beak and he has not tried to bite me once. :D because he is happy and content with me using the gloves he feels secure so i'll stick to these till he is even more content to use with out. With out the gloves he has a anxiety flap and flaps around trying to escape so not worth the hassle.

He comes out the cage now and goes in on his own or by hand which is fantastic. I have only had him 11 days. What a result i'm so happy.

So what do you guys think. Girl or boy ??

If he/she was 15 months it would still be quite early to get a ring so 15 weeks is far far far too early. In terms of knowing gender that rind doesn't give you any clues. It's very pretty to look at though! When they get their rings the black feathers are black from the start (and seemingly come out of nowhere!). They just start to appear!

That is a normal ring on both males and females of that age.
