Breeding Question

Ok, I just got this Gold-capped conure and its a male. I have Kiwi, that is female (according to last owner, still waiting for dna sexing results to come back). If Kiwi really is in face a female, can she mate with the Gold-capped Conure? I'd like to know what to expect a little ahead of time before it catches me by surprise. Does anyone know?

Well they are both conures so it is possible. Just don't house them together and watch when they are out together and you shouldn't have any problems. They might not even bond that way, there really isn't a way to know until it happens.

Yes it is possible but if they do bond that's fine, just make sure there isn't any little cosy places they can set up house. And even if the hen? does lay there are others measures you can take to make sure no eggs hatch.

Ok, so the people that I got Kiwi from obviously just took a guess at what sex she was. BECAUSE ITS A BOY! The vet finally called me back and they did one thing right at least. The DNA sexing on Kiwi came back and he's a male. So now I just have to hope and pray that he gets along ok with Loui, which right now they seem to be ok together. But I have no near future plans to put them in the same cage together.

That is good news. But 2 males can be great friends & get along just fine even in the same cage. Just treat them exactly the same.

No doubt about that! They are both using me as their own personal perch right now and neither are fighting over the shoulder lol.
