Handfeeding is a full time job!!!! When I used to breed them I yank the babies at 7 days old and start to handfeed. During breeding season you need to offer plenty of fresh water and good quality food along with calcium supplements like cuttle bones, mineral blocks, and oyster shells. I use pine shavings for nesting materials. They're colony breeders so they do better breeding as a colony. That means you need other budgies!!! But sometimes they do breed without being in a colony. Make sure you yank the nest box as soon as you yank the babies otherwise they will raise another batch. You don't want them to have more then 3 at the max per year. It's hard on the female's body!!!!
