Do males not get frisky like this? Nacho's previous owner along with my vet think he is a male. But he is definitely in the mood... even with simple head scratches. His rear end sticks straight up, the wings flip, and he makes interesting noises. He also does something where it... well... not sure how to describe it without being crude but I'll just say it looks like exactly what a dog does on your leg...but with wings.
Ahhhh yes, the conure love rub...
I had two males, and they both did this. Py was subtle about it, and everyone remarked on how "affectinate" he was. (Without realizing just how affectionate he was actually being!)
Demitre, my little stinker Dusky conure was worse. There was nothing subtle about him. And he had a mate... so it's not like he was "going without." And he could get quite nippy when I "interrupted" him misbehaving on my shoulder.... NOT YET, LET ME FINISH...
Yeah, breeding season is one big adventure...
