- Parrots
- Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
I am going to rain on the parade a bit ... (sorry)
Birds have rejected me and others have accepted me (and that is okay- the choice should as far as possible be mutual)- and if this baby is making you feeling rejected already ... a parrot should bring joy and a feeling of companionship - if at all possible.
I am not sure (esp. if this is your first bird!) you should be starting out on an uphill struggle for the birds affections when there are so many other options of "love at first sight".
Yes, of course you can win over almost any bird (though we also have plenty of exceptions here, for one reason or another) but it helps if you already have parrot-experience and know how-to.
(Not saying you should not be able to do this, we are all here for you etc. and you obvioulsy did a lot of prepwork already.)
But I am a great supporter of intuition/ gutfeeling and if you feel you and this particulair bird are not 'meant for each other' and you can still try again ...
look at other birds as well!
