Hello, I have an African Gray Parrot. His name is Humphrey Bogart and he is imported. I adopted him in 1989. He lives in a cage that came with him but originated in a dump. I am researching new cages that will be easier for me to keep clean and move. How do you feel about Kings Cages? I'm attracted to the aluminum. I'm not sure I like the look of the cages by design. Thanks for any info. I'm afraid I might not find my way back to this forum for answers. Can I put an email on here? Kim

Hi! First off, I have to say that you got your bird the year I was born, so that's kind of nifty. If you have had the same cage for the past 22 years, and it originated in a dump, I would definitely say that it is time for a new one. I can't give any advice on brands but look for the biggest you can afford, I prefer wrought iron cages but that's just my preference. You want something that is lockable so that they bird can't escape when you are not around and something that is easy to clean. There is a thread here where members are posting pictures of their cages as well, that may be of help. Also, if you are afraid of losing the web address, try bookmarking it :) I don't know what web browser you use, but I use chrome and all you have to do is click the little star to the right of you address bar. I would definitely recommend checking back here as you will certainly find a lot of help. Fortunately bird care has come a LONG way from the tiny dome top cages and all seed diets of the '80's.
