I have a black masked lovebird that i caught outback of my neighbors house about 9 years ago. I have no clue how old he/she is. The other day I noticed he/she has a slight blue haze over the eyes. Im not sure if its because he is old or if its something more serious. He has a bracelet on so i know he was from a pet store at one time. Please help if you know what the haze could be. Thank you!:whiteblue:

Could it be cataracts?

Cataracts develop in the bird’s eye when there is a deficiency in vitamin E, an infection with encephalomyelitis, or even from continuous exposure to some artificial lights.

Only an avian vet can make the determination what is actually going on with your bird's eyes.

it looks like cataracts to me. His eyes arent swollen or red around them. He sings, dances, and eats normal. I put the vitamins in his water every day. I just dont know how old he could be.
