Blue Front Amazon/Orange wing Amazon Hybrids????

I can't believe as environmentally conscientious as CA is that this is something that has not been addressed. Maybe someone has never asked? Can you imagine what kind of problems huge flocks of feral parrots could be, drains on nonexistant tax $'s, noise, mess, etc. Not to mention the threat to the existing native species.

But any bird lover could tell you how thrilling it would be to see "their" bird type w/a couple dozen of his friends sitting in a tree. Mexico has a terrible record w/environmental issues, we can't depend on them to keep up w/this species & many others that are endangered.

There are several flocks of "wild" (escaped pets and their offspring) parrots in Santa Barbara, and I don't know what you mean by problems and drains. They're birds, they fly around and feed themselves and do their bird things. It's not like the city feeds them or pays for a vet if they get sick. One of the flocks used to buzz around my house up there, and I loved seeing them. Not so much hearing them, some of them were loud, but a flock of beautiful, colorful parrots is incredible to see.

I was really referring to the problems w/nesting in power lines, citizen complaints, etc. This a problem reported w/NY quaker population, maybe not a problem w/CA. I do know that some areas are rounding up fledglings & adopting them out threw the animal shelters. I would love to see them, I can't imagine a flock of Merlins in the trees. lol

Quaker nest diffrent. If anythingthe zons are nesting in tree. If we had fruit plantations then yea. Huge problem. We don't though. We have a crap load of fig trees and everywhere. They eat those. What happens happens. One person can't do anything. But me personally I enjoy them loads. There no threat nor problem 'yet'
Parrots are Courious.

200 dollar adoption fee. Lol. There robbing the nest and selling the babies.
Pretty soon well have the illegal parrot trade over with because California does it legally haha

There's probably a lot of amazon hybrids out there that no one can directly identify as one species or subspecies in particular since quite a few look familiar. Orange wings are somewhat frequently confused as small blue fronts.

Here's one such hybrid

There are other hybrid amazons in the group, and the following search pulls up some of these hybrids, with some non-amazons in the mix!
