Blue crowned conure
Hello,

I'm from Germany, so my English is not so good.

We get next Wednesday a young Blue Crowned Conure. Unfortunately, there is here in Germany not so many information about the Blue Crowned Conure. I hope I can ask you a few questions?
What are you feeding it going? How much fruit and vegetables? Pellets or grains? Which grain food?

How busy it yours?

And what can you tell about the ever to the Blue crowned conures?

best regards
Katja

(Hi Katja, and welcome to ParrotForums. Your English is just fine, I only hope my German is still somewhat acceptable.

Here are two terrific links about feeding/diet of parrots.

Many congrats on your Blue Crowned Conure...Wednesday can probably not arrive soon enough for you.)

Your German is perfect :)

I am not inexperienced in matters parrots attitude. I had already been a very old and Blue Crowned Conure and a Blue Macaw. Both from poor posture. And they were suffering from aspergillosis that I want to prevent as much as possible. Now therefore also attracts young animal from a good breeder :)

and have you an idea of a name for the baby bird?

Welcome and congratulations on your new blue crown conure! I absolutely love mine and he didn't take long to warm up to me and he readily accepts many healthy foods.

Wendy already gave you some great links regarding diet! My guy usually likes to have a mix of pellets and a separate bowl of vegetables in his cage, and then in the evening we eat our meal together (and it forces me to eat healthy too).

I took 5 years of German (in the 80s) and could basically understand what Wendy wrote, but there is no way I could attempt to write to you in German without it taking me forever! :p

For clarification, Katja used to have a Blue Crowned Conure and a Blue & Gold Macaw, both of which were rescued from atrocious conditions. Both birds had Aspergillus and died.
