...I am (sorta anyway). Some folks may have noticed I haven't been posting in a while..It's coz I can't see bupkiss :-/ Been coming on for a while now. I thought I just needed new glasses,or my diabetes was playing havic with my sight. It wasn't that it's a moderate/severe case of cattaracs in both eyes. I need surgery which wont take place til the end of NEXT month :-( Vision changes hourly. I have about 6 different strengths of readers. One hour I can "kinda" read with one pair and the next hour I cant even make out the clock. Driving? forget about it! I cant make out the dashboard/clock/radio its all black, unless its dark out but oncoming headlights are so bright they blind me. Sometimes I can't make out the little peach spot on Beebs sweet face unless I'm kissing him all over. I still cautiously take Amy to Cumby's or to get chicken but my heart is in my throat, Luckily both are less than a half mile away. I know this is a pretty common procedure but it's got me upset to say the least. Maybe I can train Amy to be my eyes..he see's everything :)

Well my dad had cataract surgery many years ago and it went well, I shall keep you in my prayers.

And from what you've said about how much you can't see, Please DoN't drive anywhere right now! You won't do your birdies any good if you're recovering from an accident too!

Dearest Jim, I am very sorry to read this news about you today. Your favourite Aussie niece, the Crown Princess Lilly Pilly would like to back up the recommendation by Dr Salty that you please do not drive! We are sending lots of Queensland sunshine, warmest wishes, love and hugs to you, and all our hopes that your surgery is successful and your recovery is swift. Love you, Uncle Jim!! ā¤ļø

Oh Jim, sorry you are having vision issues. Our most indispensable sense, thankfully cataract surgery is safe, reliable, and so rewarding! Keep safe until later next month, restricting driving very small price to pay considering potential alternative!
