Bleeding egg

Just looking to get some advice/opinions from people who might have had similar situations in the past. My sun conures were on five eggs, first one was supposed to hatch yesterday or today. When inspecting the nest this morning, I found this egg with a big hole in it (clearly damaged and not from hatch itself) with blood coming out of the cracks and a visible blood ring inside the egg (when candling). It seemed quite serious, so I took the egg inside, made a hole in the aircell, moistened the membrane and am now waiting to see what happens and keeping an eye on it. Bird is still breathing and trying to chip his way out of the egg, not making a sound though. Is there anything else I can do? I'm unsure if the bleeding has stopped but can't reach that part since he is still absorbing vessels. Should I just wait for now and see how it turns out?

Is the yoke absorbed yet?

Wait until that is completely absorbed and then bust him out. Have you watched Howard Voren’s hatch assist video on YouTube?

Yep I have. As it turned out when I opened it up a bit more the chick is malpositioned as well and the beak is on the wrong side of the egg so it's been quite hard to get him out safely, but we're getting there. He's pretty active right now and I'm hoping to have him out completely in a few hours now all the active veins seem gone.

Good!
