So a huge flock of Blackbirds, which looked like a big black cloud, came to rest in the trees around me as I was on my way to work. I was in the middle of their circle. They were screaming all at once and the noise was deafening! Neighbor came out to see what was going on! Never seen this before! Recorded a bit on my phone and left....
What on earth was this about?
Any ideas what might have sparked this behavior??

I sure hope it's not a bad Omen!!

It is spring migration time where they migrate in large flocks and take rest in trees and try to refuel with whatever is available to eat and drink. Absolutly not a bad omen just nature at work. enjoy the show they will move on soon enough:)

The new season of Game Of Thrones is about to start.

LOL.
I was thinking I was their first stop from migrating back up here. But geez! My ears are still ringing!! LOL

Probably grackles, migrating back to their northern breeding grounds. I'm hoping to see a migrating flock of robins in a big wave like that.

I saw probably 15 or 20 egrets flying together yesterday, so amazing. They make the most incongruous sound, compared to how graceful they are, but its a lovely call...I can't describe it, but I certainly know it when I hear it! I know all my local birdie calls though...I like being able to connect the squawk to the beak :)

Ive tried, unsuccessfully to imitate the mourning doves in my area. Some answer back if I come close though.

The other day I was in the parking lot at work, and there were black birds everywhere. I'm not sure what kind they were. They were so shiny they looked oily and they were a little smaller than a crow. They were all around me.
My co-workers joked that the "crazy bird lady" has summoned her flock.
I think it's just the time of year.
