My daughter Britty came over on Thursday, and as soon as she walked into the bird room, Phoe, Xander and Ekko went crazy for her:)
Here is a video taken when Xander came flying off his cage to her:

This pic is after she had picked up Ekko, and he ran straight to her shoulder. We don't let him on our shoulder usually, and she was a little worried. I had her put her arm on the java stand and we lured him to the stand with treats. I had to get a picture first, though..lol

That video has me laughing SO hard, Terry!

Xander (ALL excited) "Pretty pretty bird"
Britty: "Yeah, you're a pretty bird"
Xander (even MORE excited) "Pretty pretty buuuuurd". HAHAHAHAHHAHA

Britty doesn't look the least bit worried in the GREAT photo where she's sporting pretty Ekko near her throat. :54:

She looks way braver then I'd be if that was Folger... granted Folger would not be sitting there so quietly :) Guess everyone was so happy to see her!! We have company! What popped into my head was Beauty and the Beast, Be our Guest!

I love the video, Xander has the most adorable voice!!

that is adorable Terry

I love Xanders voice, it's so darn cute!!
Folger is gorgeous.

does your daughter own any birds??

Britty does not have any birds, but really tries to talk me into letting her have Phoe or Xander. I think that once her wedding is over, she is definitely going to want one for her own. But I tell her hands off of mine unless she is just visiting. I am afraid I will have to start checking her pockets soon..lol.

I totally agree that Folger is gorgeous, but I am so confused..lolol

Someone definitely thinks Folger is a different bird... gorgeous does not come to mind for that little cornish game hen chicken bird :) he is cute in his own demonic way...

The beautiful eckie is Terry's Ekko... Folger is Victoria's demonic little 'half' bald bare eyed too brat :)

Hmmm..I really do like the name Folger! Maybe I could have a chat with Ekko and see if he is willing to change it:)
And I think Folger is truly majestic:)

As a coffee-loving couple(Me and Brad both used to work at Starbucks) I'm sure he would get a kick out of that name.
I'm really bad at coming up with my own names, but I really like the names of other birds! Folger, Fargo, Talli, Ivory.. they're all so unique, and so fitting of the bird! Probably one of my favourite things about this forum(Other than the pictures and members!) is the lovely names of everybody and their fids. :)

I know, I get some serious name envy reading the wonderful names that people come up with. And btw, I love Yoshi too:)
Talli is actually short for Metallica, which is Reg's fav band..lol.

Haha that's awesome.. And thank you! It's quite fitting for our green fellow, as we have a Beardie named Bowser.. hehe.
Btw- your Alex is a joy! I love their voices. Although I'd be paranoid with that big red beak so close to my face, as long as he was saying nice things and not chomping down on my ears/nose... I guess we could be friends that close.

That video is darling, Terry. Xander is so excited. Do all Alex's have such beautiful voices? If so, I may have to have one. I'll call him Yoshi! That's one of my favorite parrot names. :)
Your birds have great names too, Terry. Dexter, Darwin, Slater, Ki, almost as cute as the birds. Britty may not take it too well when you start patting her down before she leaves, but it may be a good idea. Ekko and Xander are obviously very fond of her.

I swear, Allee, you should hear her begging for one of those 2...it's a good thing I learned how to say no all those years ago!
And I love your fids names as well - Popeye, Harry, Zeke?
You definitely need an Alex, my friend - and I think they all have that same, sweet voice:)

Terry, I love Xander's sweet Alex voice. He is soooooo cute. Bundii has had her screams on this morning (has not stopped calling to the wild birds since she got up approx 3hours ago) and it is driving me a bit nuts. :D

Anyways I played the Xander vid and she stopped listened and then looked at me and started again. It was like I will stop to watch the birdie video but not stop for you. :09:

Ohhh the birdie dramas.

And that big red beak is nothing to be afraid of. Bundii loves to sit and rest her beak on your cheek. It's so sweet. She is so gentle when it comes to this but stick your finger near her and chomp.

I guess that's where I trust issues are.
I feel like my Eclectus would do fine as a shoulder bird, he's really laid back, and doesn't really bite aside from warning nips when he's in his cage.
Buuuuut.. knowing what that beak is capable of still makes me nervous. I feel like anything larger than my conures would have to be 100% okay with hands before they can get on the shoulder, just in case they decide to nip(I wear glasses, we both have facial/ear rings)so they won't get more nervous/bite down if we use a hand to remove them from the shoulder.. yknow? :52:

Amanda, We have yet to be bitten by Xander (knocking wood and fingers crossed). He usually just runs if he doesn't want to be messed with, and I just wonder what all kinds of tortures he went through in his previous home:(
He has this honking sound he does, but no screaming. What does Bundii sound like when she screams?
I'm glad she stopped long enough to listen to Xan and give you a little break:)

Terry, when the wild birds head home this afternoon, I will get the sounds for you. It is over the top. She has always done this noise when there are wild birds around. It can drive you nuts. But the good thing is, she only does it when they are flying around. So I cannot complain as it is only natural. Bundii also has a honking noise so I will try and get that one as well. No promises on this one though:)

Bundii is fine as long as you don't try to touch with your hands. Hubby can touch with hands but only for a limited time. Anything else she is completely fine with. She supposedly came from a breeder but I have my doubts about their quality. There was no step up taught - I think it was just a money making exercise but I could not turn her down. The only times she has bitten is when I have pushed too far and I cannot blame her. It was completely my fault each time. Not that is has happened all to much. More in the early days. It is slowly getting better but I love her the same.
