My Jenday has a HUGE sweet tooth. It is IMPOSSIBLE to keep him away from desert. So on my quest to find better quality food for BOTH of us I asked around to several of my "organic" and "vegan" friends. They recommended Chia Seeds. I checked them out and they are good for birds and people 9 just make sure you get the good kind and not cheap stuff from china). So her is a good recipe for your sweet tooth bird. Low cal, low sugar, tastes great.

Cheeky's Chia Pudding:

Mix 1/2 cup coconut (or almond) milk with 2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons Chia seeds. Let soak for about 30 minutes. Then add a pinch of sea salt, 1/2 tsp vanilla (or some vanilla seeds right from the pod..I actually have those but most don't). You can substitute almond extract for the vanilla. Then add about 1 tsp to 1 tbsp of either honey or agave nectar. Top with fresh berries.
For humans you can substitute the agave with splenda and add a tablespoon of cocoa powder. I split the mixture after soaking so I can make the bird friendly one separate from the human friendly one.
YUMMY, lo cal and high in omega-3 plus a whole bunch of other stuff. Fills you up too!
CHEEKY gives it five feathers....which is a lot since he lost the other five during a failed escape attempt when I brought him to get his nails cut:)
