Hahn's macaw, RIP George, Jenday Conure
I did a search for A WHOLE 2 MINUTES! But found nothing. After my exhaustive research, I took a restorative nap, got a mani-pedi-facial, drank some cucumber water and made my own thread. Um, where was I?...oh yes.

I have the dustiest dogs in the continental United States. We just got new walnut colored furniture last Sunday, now it's layered in a fine dust. I tried using clean towels, but it clings to the furniture. I need a spray that won't kill Hahnzel, or shorten our lives either. I demand an answer! Or, if you'd like to help that would be nice too. ;)

:eek:It's been 3 minutes since I started this thread. Why is no one answering? More dust is piling up...

I use a white vinegar/water mix for most cleaning and dusting and floor wash. For extra wood glow I buff in oil..usually almond or sesame.

Do you know what ratio you use? Like 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water?

Gee, Goaler, here it's 12 minutes after 11:00pm & it appears your post is either being avoided or everybody's watching/doing other things...something hard to believe around the forums...heck, even the night duty monitors normally pop in, but nothing from those corners either.....

I'd offer info, but I'm not up to date on the current dusting solutions, so won't insult you ! ! !

I was bored...wife's out shopping. And I sincerely hope everybody understands that I'm kidding.

I just eyeball it, but I would say about 80% water maybe a bit more (water). I've done it stronger than that with no adverse effects to the atmosphere or the wood...it makes it glow nicely.

Thanks Kali...

Yes to the vinegar and water-it works great on all finished woods including floors. Murphy's oil soap dulls everything too much. If you think about it, most wood has a poly finish on it, which we then add oil or wax to. Vinegar makes everything glow and shine while wax build up dulls it. I add a touch of lemon juice to my mixture as well. I tend to mix mine stronger because it loosens grime faster. I use it everywhere. It cleans mirrors really well, windows, all surfaces really. Except marble, found that out the hard way on my bathroom floor when I got a little crazy in there cleaning and over-sprayed. Yeah, it dulled it. I'd watch any stone surfaces but otherwise it's a great natural cleaner. It smells bad, but that's gone as soon as it dries.

Hmmm, here it is almost 30 minutes later & still no Super Moderator intervention.....interesting.....I thought there was a night shift crew on duty.....guess that's what I get for thinking.....well, at least you've gotten some credible replies ! ! !

Why use a cleaning solution? Just use your green magic feather duster;)

Enjo dusting mitts are good, they don't just move the dust about, they grab it. There are other types that grab dust.

A friend of mine makes her own cleaner,

Toss all of your citrus peels into a quart jar and fill up with white vinegar, let sit for 2 weeks, toss out peels and pour the quart jar contents into a gallon milk jug and fill with water. Ready to use! I want to try this, she says it smells clean and fresh.

Well, if you're ever like Goaler & me, prone to bouts of boredom, you'll have your own solution to the malady ! ! !

Looks like you didn't miss much.....nothing but lip service from the SM cadre, though several good thoughts from the minions, but then some of the SMs were complaining about having missed their nap times today ! ! !
