I grew up with birds so to me bird poop is nothing to freak out about. I am always telling my husband and daughter it is just bird poop.

Our parrots are more vegetarians. So their poop most of the time is no big deal. Now not all birds poop the same and I must say that the ocean birds poop is the worst poop in the world.

Do you find that your parrots poop is just poop and no big deal? I don't really like getting poop on me. If it happens I just clean it up and go on with my day.

Yeh it's just poop, little pressies from Plum. Do sometimes wonder if I should be wearing camouflage outfits though LOL?

I grew up with lots of it and while I've never lived with birds who pooped on me (thank goodness, as I've always been around bigger ones who make large poops), I guess I've accidentally stepped in it/stuck my hands in it enough times to become completely desensitized to it. Rinse it off and move on. If it's dry, I don't even have any qualms about touching it with my bare hands voluntarily. Sometimes while cleaning the cage, if there's a tight space the scraper doesn't get well enough that has a dry poo on it, I'll flick it off lol. Now, I know Kiwi and my parents birds are very healthy and disease free. I would definitely feel a lot different about accidental contact with the poop of a bird of unknown health status.

Bird poop is zero problem for me. I will literally clean it with my hand if she poops in an inappropriate place.
However, let a wild bird poop on me and I will have a germ induced panic attack. All I can think when that occasionally happens is chlamydia chlamydia aaaaaggghhh.

I do wear gloves when cleaning out the cages of the big birds, but that's because there's just so much of it that it's easier to have the gloves in. The occasional poop outside the cage doesn't faze me. Just clean it up and go on with my day.

Is both an acceptable answer? I mean, does it phase me? No. but poop is still gross, and bird poop may not smell, but it takes the cake consistency wise.

Yeah, it's poo, it's nasty, but whadya gonna do?clean it. I'm a mom soive cleaned much worse than bird poo. Poops away!

The Rickeybird's poop is kind of like dust to me. It happens. It's everywhere. Ya Swiffer it... repeat.

I have three boys. It takes a lot to set off my gross meter. Have I told you guys about the frog in the washing machine?

Poop is poop, no big deal, though. Sea bird poop smells so bad from all the fish in the diet. Geri on the other hand dislikes poop of any sort. Even mine.

Oh life with pets. My conure is so polite he will climb off my shoulder to poop now. I love it. He really thinks before he poops it amazes me. My old Senegal Kiwi just let it rip any where.

Thanks for the great answers.

It's just a by-product of our cool birds! Thankfully it is nice and warm when fresh, and has little-to-no odor. :D

No matter how many years I've been used to it, it's still gross.... but still a lot less gross than mammal poop.
