I have an IP Video Camera that I'm planning to mount on the wall near Kiwi's cage (so I can peek in on him from work :)

The video camera has IR, which is good for low light conditions, but I'm wondering... Can birds see the IR light? I'd hate to think that he'd be bothered by that when sleeping.

There shouldn't be any problem at all, other than you might want to leave it on a table or something near his cage for a few days, so he can get used to it. Sometimes birds have a problem with something just popping up in their space.

Several years ago a woman couldn't figure out what was causing her bird to cower in its cage, until a birthday balloon lost enough air to float to the floor...and in another instance a MBC would go straight to its hut & stay there until a gift, wrapped in shiny silver paper, was removed from a shelf near the bird's cage.

Children aren't the only ones who believe in monsters.....

I use one and doesn't seem to bother them. I love it.

I've heard of, and seen, breeders using cameras with infrared technology. The cameras are set up inside the nest box so that the breeders can watch the parents and chicks and watch for any signs of trouble without physically disturbing the parents.

I don't see an issue.

Thanks, so far so good, it doesn't bother him at all. It's nice to be able to peek in on him from my cell phone :)

The cameras at the store I work at have IR and we haven't noticed anything wrong

If you haven't found it already check out live cams pro. We've had great success with it.

Yup, on my iPad I use 'Live Cams Pro', and on my Android I use 'IP Cam Viewer'.
