The Rickeybird, 40-year-old Patagonian Conure
As some of you know, the Rickeybird and I are both bird artists. I am a person who does bird art, and he is a bird who... does person art.

I do realistic mixed-media portraits of indvidual pet birds, among other things. Rb does... shall we say... unconventional textile art? Quite a few of you have already patronized our "gallery".

Even if you're not in the market for bird art, I'd love to show off some of our recent works! For the links, please just send me a private message!

Thanks and thanks,
Gail and the Rb :) :)

I have heard a rumor that there is a showing of one of this Artist's 'Works' scheduled for presentation on the Parrot Forums some time this coming week.

The exact day has been withheld pending final approval of the featured Amazon. The word is that the private showing was extremely well received by his Support Staff.

In a statement release yesterday, the featured Amazon suggested that on the day of the up coming presentation that the Artist (The OP of this Thread) will likely be quickly booked out and the Wise Bird Owner should make reservations now to assure a timely delivery!

A sneak look may be possible by PM the Artist to view it and her other wonderful works!!!

Of course, I have insider knowledge on these things, since I fraternize with Amazonster Snobsters regularly.
My lips are sealed, and the Rb's beak is... well... open, but nobody believes a thing he says anyhow.

Thank you, Mr. Boat!!!!!

Oh btw, I'm a bird artist too, and here's a sample of my work.

Thank you, Terry!
It's truly a labor of love. I fall in love with every bird I paint.
Rival... that's not art. It's HATING!

Some parrot portraits...
Thanks to the parronts who participated, and the parrots who posed.
Since the Rickeybird wont let me have any other birds, this is the only way I can add to my "flock", ya know.
Thanks for letting my show my darlings off.
I'm in love with every one.

I love seeing them all in one place! I was going to say of course the ones you did for Gus and Oliver are the best, but man... Salty is so cute! The Beebs is so sweet! They're all great! Amy looks ready to step up and Julio is getting ready to say something good...Smokey's thinking about something, Charlotte was ready to fly off but you got her attention for a second...Harry and Toon are up to something, and Bob looks like a jewel. Wow, wow, wow!

I agree completely with your analysis!
And thank you. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Someday I'll do the Rb as a Dorian Gray experiment...

Yes, I'm stealing from my Good Friends Post! So well said! It needed to be repeated!

Regarding our Julio's work: We spend several days looking at that Art piece. There was something more there and it wasn't until late on the third day that it came to us! Julio is happy!

Thanks again Gail, for your heartfelt work!

It's official!

I have branched out into portraits of companion animals OTHER THAN birds...

I present "Marra", beautiful tortoiseshell kittycat, commissioned by our community member Lapis.
I've also recently painted a Siberian Husky and a Dutch Rabbit.

Know what? I wish one of you reptile fanciers would hire me to do a portrait of one of your slitherers or crawlers. Now THAT would be a fun challenge!

Even if you're not in the market for a portrait, I'd love to show you my gallery so far. Just PM me for the link.

Meanwhile, here's lovely Marra. Thanks for letting me show her off, Lapis!

Well, there's always a first for everything...
And this one's a first for me.
This portrait was through eBay... not one of our community members here.
Ummmmm... she's kinda cute, right??????

Lovely creature. Honestly, I think Boatrice and the Rickeybird resemble. They should be very compatible. Just look at the dear snake's warm expression. Clearly has a kind and social nature. I have a spectacular idea. Let's get the Rickeybird one of these as a friend. They can share a cage, so that neither will have to be lonely when we have to go on errands...................................... I predict love at first bite.
SIGHT, first SIGHT!

This is a portrait of Marguerite the Parakeet... named before his owner realized he was a HE, and by then the name had stuck. Marguerite recently passed away at the venerable age of 12 years. Marguerite belonged to a person I met on a wine forum I frequent. I'm hoping to lure him here by showing off his darling. He also has a male cockatiel named Glockenspiel who is about ten and counting.
Rest in peace, Marguerite.

Oh how kind of Rival, always looking for a Rickeybird out! I mean, always looking out for Rickeybird!

Beautiful work Gail! I wish I had even a fraction of your talent with art.

Kentuckienne...... if I think I'm fooling anybody, I'M a fool, whom/which/myself I pity!
*cross reference Mr. T.*

Kiwi, she'll appreciate that. I love watching her work. She does the eyes first, because she likes the "company" while she finishes. Artists are weird, but loveable.
