Hi guys,

I would like to hear your opinion about it.
My Kakariki has laid eggs one month ago and 1 week ago first chick came out from the egg. During whole time she has been sitting in the nest and taking care of the chick. Male kakariki was feeding her.
She still continues the same, but from time to time she is coming out from Nest to drink a water.
Today I noticed that she has a twice larger nails, which is unusual. She couldn't walk properly because of that.

What can be the reason of it? should I show her Vet? or?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I'm not experienced with kakarikis, however her longer nails could be due to her not using them as she is incubating the eggs. Is her beak any longer? It could be a lack of vitamins like vit d3.
