Best small bird for me????

I have cockatiels, parakeets and a green cheek. I would go with the cockatiel, my cockatiel talks, he tells me he is a good boy everyday!

As for something furry, for your younger kids rats are way better then hamsters. some people find them gross but i have 4 and waiting for one to be big enough to come home this weekend. They are very social and lovable!
You also need to think about the fact that a bird lives a lot longer then a hamster or something like that. My last budgie was 13 when she died.....

I would definatley go with the budgie, a budgie currently holds the record for knowing the most words out of ANY bird! they are super smart it kinda scares me haha but ya my friend has a hamster and all she does with it is pick it up hold it for a lil while put it in the ball and then bak in the cage. I have a budgie and she stays out most of the day sings to me when i sing to her, i found that she loves alicia keys! she goes crazy everytime one of her songs is on haha!! plays with her toys(sometimes i join the fun) and we have alot of fun all the time i love her:) not all budgies will talk but if they don't they'll still find ways to communicate with you and somehow you will always know what they want?

Well our kids would love a cat but due to allergies, that's not possible and we are not ready for a dog yet. We were considering a hamster or guinea pig but the kids really want a pet they can interact and bond with and I'm not sure they would get that from a hamster or guinea pig.
Why do you think something furry would be better than a bird for us?
As for Cockatiels aren't they pretty big? If we were to go with a bird I thought smaller would be better?
Thanks

I recommend a pair of Guinea Pigs. They aren't as stupid as most people thing. They learn to recognize you, talk to you (with squeaks and chirps) and love being cuddle and played with. They're like dogs without the slobber and wagging tail. They are amazing animals if you spend enough time with them everyday (just like a parrot). They live for about 10 years so they makes a good childhood pet. If you decide on a pig, get a pair as they are social creatures that need someone else that "speaks" their language. Make sure they are the same gender as well to keep breeding down

Feeding a pig is almost like feeding a parrot. They need fresh fruit and veggies everyday, a pelleted diet and treats offered occasionally. They also need Timothy Hay which is 75% of their diet. It's what keeps their organs working and teeth ground down. Plus they love playing in it :)

I can go on forever on Guinea Pigs if you let me lol. I really do recommend them until the youngest child is at least 6 or 7 then maybe a Linne (or two) would be a good addition to your home.
