I'm finishing up my preparations to bring Maui (WBC) home but I'm getting stuck on deciding on appropriately sized perches. I have a good roosting perch (2.5 cm diameter), some sisal rope perches, a manu mineral perch, and a flat corner shelf.
Unfortunately I am having a hard time finding a perch to span his cage. I found this one that will fit, but I'm worried that it might be too large: https://www.petshopdirect.com.au/shop/item/natural-wood-perch-thick-60cm
This shop also has a massively long perch I could cut down that's ~3cm diameter - would this be a better size for a caique?
I'm also going to be getting some java wood perches from another shop. The shop owner suggested the medium size would be good (2-3cm diameter). But I'm wondering if the smaller size would also be suitable (1-2cm diameter) to give his feet some variety?
I'm planning to switch around the perches sometimes when I need to clean them or just for some variety when I rotate his toys; I don't want his feet to get locked up because he's gripping the same way all the time!
Thank you all!
