After much discussion, feeding lessons, and weighing out the pros and cons we decided that we lived close enough to her breeder to take her. She has already been eating up a storm and despite missing one toe nail and being very tiny for a caique she gets around her palace-sized cage very well! The first thing she did was climb up to the food bowl (which I had assumed we wouldn't use for months) and preened for 30 minutes! She will get a mash at supper which consists of "AviGain" and couscous which she takes very well off a spoon and other than that is on a regular diet! Rick and I are thrilled! You will notice her light coloring and the size difference is quite remarkable. We are unable to have human baby so this is it for us and we couldn't be happier. I have around 2 weeks of work booked off to help her settle in too which helps. She seems to really like snuggling in my hair so far...and check out her first award!
Here she is!
