Best Books You have found on Caring for your Parrot

I am in the process of getting my own parrot. I realize that the internet is a river of information, but honestly, I prefer the printed word. I don't have a "smart phone" or a tablet that I can carry everywhere. Books can go with me just about everywhere I go though, and the information isn't quite so scattered. So, I was wondering. Assuming you've used books in the care and training of your parrot, what books did you use? Which are the most reliable? Are there any you would personally suggest I avoid? My primary interest, at the moment lies in Amazons, Greater Vasa's, and Greys. Let me know what you think! I would appreciate it greatly.

A good training book is Clicker Training For Birds by Melinda Johnson. Barbara Heidenreich has some good books as well.

I'm sure I have some other books on hand that I can't think of atm...

+1 on the Melinda Johnson book... I also rate Parrots for Dummies really highly. It's a big book, lots of info about diet, first aid and behavioral problems, and the author tries to but both sides of the argument on 'hot' issues (clipping, free flight etc - she still puts her own opinion in there but it's done in a much less judgmental way than some books I've read).

I just started reading The Healthy Bird Cookbook. It's very good so far, and has lots of info on nutrition, food groups, vitamins, toxic foods, etc., as well as recipes and ideas for different ways to get your bird to try new foods.

I always recommend Mattie Sue Athan's parrot books. She's written several books specific to certain types of parrots (such as one I have, her Guide to the Quaker Parrot), along with her Guide to Companion Parrot Behavior, which includes information pertinent to all kinds of parrots. Bonnie Munro Doane's Parrot Training is another book I recommend.
