Best air purifier? Humidifier?

I've gone through several purifiers over the years and all gave me problems. I change filters each month. I want a nice filter for the bird room. It's a 10x10 room made up for them. I don't want it to be a cheap one but I also don't want to pay $400. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I might as well get a new humidifier while I'm at it, since winter is coming! Suggestions on that are appreciated as well. TIA

We have a Bionaire True HEPA Tower....Retails around $150-200 Canadian, so I'm sure it cheaper in the states. That's for our living room.

In our bedroom, we have a small Sunbeam Visipure Mini-Tower...Was about 50 bucks Canadian.

We use the Honeywell Air Genius 5 in our bird rooms and it works really well.

I bought two rabbit air bio gs purifiers on Craigslist for about $60 each. I just bought new filters when I got them. I vacuum filters to extend life. I got a good deal on a used IQ air health pro plus which is supposed to be a medical grade hepa. It works well but the filters are so expensive, I wonder if it is really worth it. For the record, it needs to say "true hepa". "Hepa type" is not a true hepa class filter, it's only made with the same material.

Be careful with humidifiers - either get one with built-in sterilization or else clean it every few days. Water + heat = mold and germs, and there are some waterborne infections that could be facilitated with a dirty humidifier. You don't want to have to treat pseudomonas and the like ...
