Sunny the Sun Conure (sept '18, gotcha 3/'19). Mr Jefferson Budgie & Mrs Calliope Budgie (albino) (nov'18 & jan'19). Summer 2021 Baby Budgies: Riker (Green); Patchouli, Keye, & Tiny (blue greywings).
So somewhere just recently as I was double checking whether a little OJ was gonna be safe for my Sunny, I saw something that said to LIMIT citrus due to needing to limit Vitamin C in order to prevent too much iron storage?

I had not previously seen that noted as a concern for Sun Conures.

And it's okay, Im not giving her lots of oranges.

BUT she is eating Lots of Red, Orange & Yellow Bell Peppers. She Loves them! Only I've always understood that Bell Peppers are a really good non-citrus source of Vita C. Are Bell peppers actually safe?

Does anyone know, or know where I can find, upper & lower daily limits for Vita c (& any other important nutrients) for Sun Conure?

MY RB2 loves her peppers and chillis too. I think the main thing is to concentrate on making the diet as inclusive as possible rather than getting bogged down on one particular thing. A little orange juice won't hurt, now and again, you can also dilute it some.

Peppers in general are OK and do contain good vitamins. My Salty LOVES hot peppers, like habenero and ghost peppers. Parrots have 1/100th the number of taste buds as humans so spicy hot peppers are eaten with great relish. Both of those peppers mentioned are always represented in my chop recipes. But I always include red, yellow, green and orange peppers too.
