when I approached his cage to talk to him.

I think he has decided he likes me. He did what I am going to refer to as The Pump, and here came the reward of a nice bit of very wet, soft pellet and a little fluid, and he looked at me like "well, don't you like the roses I brought you or not?"

So I gave him a little bit of Nilla Wafer in return for his beautiful bouquet.

Am I interpreting this behavior correctly? Sammy's always acted like she was gonna regurge but nothing ever came up. Must be a Girl Thang, not wanting to look all mussed up or something.

I'm not complaining, btw, it's better than finding your cat's fur ball in your bedroom slipper.

Lol! That's funny! Actually, you might not want to reward it with a snack, just sort of ignore it and get him engaged in something else. Encouraging hormonal behavior can start a flood of hormones that can spiral out if control, and he'll be humping your furball filled slippers.
