Jasper's beak looks like it's chipping. The other day a small piece came off (like a flake) and underneath was some yellow.

Do their beaks flake off when they're changing colour??

Oh that's normal :) not just at his age, but always. They're constantly shedding and regrowing new cells. Ekkies usually never look too bad, but a lot of species get the flaking and chipping really bad from time to time, and it looks like something is wrong, but it's normal. My Red Bellied will let me groom it for him. I like chipping and scratching it off!

Here's a bad photo of Raven (Pionus). He's a little camera shy right now since he's so shaggy from molting ;). He wouldn't stay still so it's a little blurry, but you can see how badly chipped his beak is. It's completely normal. In fact I see Pionus and Amazons with it bad many times. It will look better within a few weeks.

Thank you!! Glad it's perfectly normal :)

I imagine as I see new things I'll be posting here more and more hehe. Certainly have appreciated everyone's help so far.

Jasper is a little sweetheart - I'll post some videos soon :D
