Bath time for Pisces and Xander

Just had to share a pic of Pisces pretty feathers while she was getting a misting. Please excuse the poop on the door, bath time is before cage cleaning time

And I dont know if anyone remembers how terrified that Xander was of a misting when I first got him, his previous owners used a mist bottle as a punishment. When he first came to us, he would huddle in the bottom of his cage if he even saw the mister bottle.
He is not afraid anymore, and before I thought to grab the camera, he was shaking his tail feathers and opening his wings. But you can see he is no longer freaked out, and I am thrilled with that I still stop as soon as he runs off, don't want to undo the progress we have made.

And I loved Pisces with all the water droplets...the rest of the flock was mad since I spent more time on her trying to get a picture. They all ended up getting their share, though

And Congratulations on your success on working with him to not fear the mister bottle! That's a big step. I cant mist my Blue and Gold Macaw cause she freaks out and screams. However, She absolutely LOVES a cold shower (The tap water here in florid is like 78 out of the pipes) and she adores getting sprayed with the garden hose (I know, right?) Infact thats her favorite thing to do outside, Get soaked with the garden hose (She likes it if i give it a *little* pressure and get under her wings, and her bellow and stuff. she will spread her wings and rock for as long as i spray her (i limit it to like 10 minutes so she doesn't get too cold)

She doesnt like warm water though, so if i shower with her im shivering by the time im out.

I let her dry on the lanai out back on her T-stand while she preens for the next couple hours.

I'm so glad Xander has learned to have a little shower. He'll be lots happier for it and you can be sure his feathers will be happier too.

Maya just broke my camera today so give me a week to get a new one and ill gladly post photos of her with the garden hose

And i must say again, Both of your guys are soo adorable, but Pisces takes the cake with that photo with the water droplets. Its national geographic quality for sure. Id submit it to a few magazines if i were you!

Normally I'd happily oblige, but Pascal runs from the water bottle, and doesn't care for a dish, and is terrified of the sink. So he showers with me. :52: and I don't think I want to attempt a photoshoot in the shower LOL
