Basil CAG
Last night I was laying on the floor (bad back) and I watched as Basil crept down the cage and took a really close look at Oscar our border collie..The camera was close at hand so I quickly got snapping..

Oscar slept on, oblivious to the approching bird and Basil content with a close up soon went off to play.

Very cute, he was checking out his new world & his new friends. I hope Oscar is trustworthy to be in the same room w/Basil.

I have three dogs Oscar is the oldest, but within a week of getting Basil we had trained them to leave the room if Basil gets down on the floor either by flying or climbing.
They are never left alone together so if Basil comes down we say 'outside' and all the dogs go out into the hall until Basil is safely back on higher ground..

Then they all get a treat for being good..Our idea is that the dogs relate Basil to positive actions..
Last week Basil flapped his wings but didnt fly..Oscar jumped up and ran into the hall looking at us expectantly...of course he got a treat just for recognising the signs!

aeeee an lol basil sounds like a dream bird! no real hang ups an really happy in new home! an feels safe enough to brave meeting his new pets :)
