Bar spacing

What size bar spacing do irn's need?

I am making my supply lists for my two future ringnecks that I plan to get in January. It's so long away but I really research before I get new animals. I know I want an extremely large cage for them to be in together but I know the larger the cage usually the larger the bar spacing is.

Also. What is the normal size cage that you would keep two irn's in. I know I want an over large cage and a normal size cage to bring for when we go places.

I have a cage that's 90 cm long and 60 wide with a bar spacing of about 1 cm. It's big enough to house 3 of my 5 IRN's quite comfortably.

It would be interesting to hear what other IRN owners recommend, though.

What do you think is the largest bar spacing that would be safe. I like huge cages so I can put boings and toys in them. My Eclectus is in a large macaw cage lol.

I wouldn't go beyond 5/8ths for IRNs. For babies especially. I was planning on getting a 41"x28"x72" for my incoming IRN, but it had 1" bar spacing and I find it's just way too large for little beaks. I instead went with a 38"x27"x60" with half inch bar spacing. I'm also a huge fan of larger cages, but it's very difficult I find to get large cages for smaller birds because of bar spacing issues.

I would say a cage with 1/2" to 3/4" bar spacing ought to be ok.

32" x 23" cage or larger should be ok for two ringnecks, I would think?

I've got the A&E version of that cage. Wish it was the HQ instead! (slight difference between a couple pieces of the cages)

I currently have 4 cockatiels in my double flight and they do well in it. If you set it up right (ringnecks have long tails!), I'm sure it would be ok for ringnecks, too!

I've seen others use that for their IRNs and there's a lot of great set up potential for that cage
