Awww, she is beautiful! She was really enjoying that banana!

'Nanna and pineapple chunks are always a big hit with Amy..and "was" with Smokey.
I wish BB would get the hint too!

she actually didn't use to like it but her tastes are changing i've noticed ... From what I've read, they go through their first molting around 7 to 9 months. She doesn't have a very noticeable molt going on however I have noticed lots of new feathers growing in constantly . For all of you experienced eclectus owners out there - around when did your eckie go through his/ her first molt? and was it noticeable?

Nothing like watching an ekkie thoroughly enjoy their food! Don't you love how utterly unhurried they always are about eating? (Well, except when you have somewhere to go, of course. Lol!)

Unfortunately, the only ekkie whose first molt I'd witnessed was my dearly departed Bixby... and he is a bad example because he came down with a case of Mojo Molt. But it hit around the 7th or 8th month, and it was VERY noticeable. But Mojo Molt always is. I can tell you, however, that the first major molt can kick in as late as in the 11th or 12th month.

If she's got a lot of pin feathering coming through, she might be right on the verge of said molt, though. It'll be more obvious if you wet her thoroughly.

This is one of the foods the Rickeybird hates... in any form or portion or size. He absolutely freaks out at the sight. Scampers away, flapping and screeching.

For the record, I do swear that I have never beaten or abused this bird with bananas, nor thrown them at him, nor committed any other banana-based assault on the bird's person.

So was not expecting that last sentence! Hahaha!

I appreciate your belief in my innocence!

Amazing on how they INSIST that we hold any kind of nummies for them! My dearly departed Smokey would chow down on banana..as long as I held it for her. If I offered it to her in my fingers and tell her to take it,she'd just stare at me like I was from another planet. But as long as I held it....hmmmmm...they know something we don't??  :D
