Baking soda cage cleaner??

Apollo (8 years old Sunday conure), and Ari (7 years old jenday conure) and Cosmo 9 years old goffins cockatoo). All DNA tested females.
Would baking soda work as a cage cleaner? Would do as good or better than vinegar?
 
It will do better at removing debris (than vinegar) and worse at killing germs (than vinegar). Baking soda may also strip your powder coating when you scrub (if you have a powder coated cage).

And stripping the powder coating would lead to rust, right?
 
Yes, correct--it will depend on how hard you scrub though.
 
I use hot soapy water and Poop Off and if I think it needs more some sprays with diluted F10 the avian discinfectant.
