We currently have a budgie who is upstairs and have never had issues with using USA pan in the past 10 years, but now I'm seeing an issue with silicone and while they're PFOA AND PTFE free, they do contain a silicone "non-stick".

Are they safe? Are there any better options? I have ALL USA pan bakeware which was also safe for our green cheek for the years we had him as well. Our new baby, golden conure, will be coming home in February.

There's a lot of articles on this subject. Food grade silicone is generally considered safe AS LONG as it is kept well below manufacturers maximum safe temp. Part of the problem is some silicone products have additives, coatings etc. The actual additives etc can usually only be discovered by contacting the manufacturers. So the choice is personal preference. I'm lazy and play it safe. I only use silicone to place hot items on. There's other threads here where more energetic people have done the research.
