I happened to be browsing a quarantine site for Tasmania today when I came across a list of prohibited imports, and my heart fell. Rainbow loris are strictly prohibited imports into the island state. I'm retiring to that state in a few years. Also on the list is the Little Corella, but I phoned them and they said a corella would be allowed in as a "companion bird". So, we'll have to find a new home for Coco (who is an really engaging character, and who I'd be devastated to lose) but Corey will be able to move with us.
Apparently, rainbow loris are forming a naturalised population around Hobart and there are active programs to eradicate them as they compete with Tasmanian native species, so they don't want any more coming in, even pet, hand-raised ones which wouldn't survive in the wild, most likely.
