Two Cockatiels: Rascal (Geraldine) and his baby brother named Coconut!
Breeder told me my new tiel is about 3 month or 3 1/2 months old... but he is already vocalizing! He's already singing a little here and there. He loves it when I turn on the blender to make a smoothie... he starts to do these weird sounding vocals... he loves it when I turn the faucet on... is this common for such a young tiel to be already vocalizing this young??

I had a stranger at my house today and he was very scared of the stranger and wouldn't let the stranger pet him at all... Coconut is already bonding to me.... he even tucked his head and fell asleep as was giving him scricthes in my hand... he's very comfortable around me. OMG so cute I cannot take it :D

BB is almost 17 weeks old now <4 months 1 day?> and I cannot believe how chatty he is. Not only is he doing his 'tiel twittles <he started that in less than 15 weeks old> BUT he has the wolf whistle down to a tee and just like 20 minutes ago,I can already recognize parts of the Andy Griffith theme song :p
TexasWades Dusty is about 2 weeks younger than BB and he is very vocal too. So I think your Coconut is right on track. Amazing, isen't it??!!

Very cool! I'm thinking this must be about the typical age when they get started in spite of what I've read. Aren't tiels just the best? ;)

Well Coconut has certainly stolen his moms heart...he seems to be such a sweet Adorable little character...so glad you got him :)

If I get up and walk over to the cage Coconut races over to me and begs me to pet him... LOVE it when new tiel tucks his head and falls sleep in my hand as he's getting scritches. I had to move the cage to other side of wall because he kept jumping off the cage running over to me.

Rascal (my other tiel) is also cuddly but this new tiel is SUPER DUPER cuddly... love it! :)

It is funny though... because Rascal has not shown any signs of jealousy at all... even when he sees me loving on the new tiel. I don't think he cares :p ... I also do not think he realizes he is a bird. All he's ever known is me.

I am going to have very dry hands after this lol... because I'm constantly washing me hands after handling Coconut... even though he was alone for 3 weeks... I want another week and his gram stain results etc.... cannot wait to introduce them to each other. :D

It also is refreshing to not have a bird that SLEEPS all the time LOL. Rascal has always been SUPER laid back and quiet as a mouse... he has always slept a lot... never plays with his toys.

This new tiel is having lots of fun playing with the toys etc... so hopefully he will teach Rascal to enjoy life more :)
