My baby Greenwing, now 1400 Grams @ 63 days old, only wants to eat 70 or 80 cc's as opposed to the usual 100 per feeding 3 times/day. He is active and alert, loves for me to squish grapes in his mouth, chews wooden toys, pulls and argues with his bed towel, seems to love getting water from the syringe, likes peanut butter from my finger, toys with and chews mixed veggies...he has lost 25 grams in the past 3 days as opposed to the usual gain of 10 to 30 grams per day. He's doing a lot of wing flapping but, of course not flying. And he's starting to try to climb the bars of his small cage.

Should I be worried? Any advise on what additional food to give him...or better yet, what would be bad to give him? He did eat 100 cc's tonight, but I stirred in some baby food apples.

Thanks for any advice.

I have no advice on the hand feeding, though I did know one macaw who would start refusing food as they weaned themselves but yours may be too young for that? (again, no idea.)

BUT
HE IS SO STINKING CUTE. I want him! Mine! *Grabbie hands*

Thank you. He is a wonderful bird! He's already trying very hard to talk. I gave him about 30 or so cc's of water tonight and he loved it. Then he tried to talk and chew on toys for almost an hour before bedtime.
