B&G crying.......

Awwww thank you! That made me feel really good. I am trying very hard to give these birdies a good life. Sometimes I am really unsure and almost scared I'm doing sometng wrong. Thank you for all the encouraging words!

OMG!!! That Fargo is AMAZING!!!!! What a great job you are doing with him!
I wouldn't even know where to start with tricks like those! Simply Incredible!

I have taught Nero to wave, he will only do it for treats as of right now. I'm working on getting him to put his wings up like the "stick em up" trick that Fargo does. He will give kisses on command as well.

Looks like I'm going to do some training research and keep my fingers crossed.

Oh, what do you use for Fargo's trick treats? I haven't found anything Nero likes other than pine nuts.

I was only able to watch the video one time. I went to show it to my husband and kids and it blanked out. Went to youtube and it says not available for mobile devices. Grrrrr technology really bites sometimes!

My Micky will make those same sounds when she is laying on me cuddling. She often climbs up on me to take naps with me.

Although I don't have a macaw, when I watched your videos and saw/heard Nero, I agree with what the others have said --- that those sounds he is making are good sounds. And I think that Nero views you in a special way since he's making those sounds always with you.

When we first got our Chattering Lory, she was just 6 weeks old. For the next 6 months, she would make crying sounds whenever she could see us. If we were out of sight, she was quiet and playing with her toys. We figured her crying sounds were what a baby bird in the wild would make when it saw it's parents.

So I'm thinking that it's possible Nero views you as "mommy" and is making those cute ;) noises for you, for attention.

The breeder didn't forwarn us about the baby crying sounds our Chattering would make, and at first we found ourselves wondering if this was going to last "forever". For about 3 months it was constant, then as the next 3 months went by, the crying lighted up a bit, and the 6th month, it was just here and there, and by the 7th month, she stopped crying. Our Chattering is a super interactive bird like your Nero, and very talkative and playful.

So, hang in there!! Nero is an awesome parrot... I plan to watch more of your videos - they are a treat!!

Nero hasn't napped on us yet. Very nice photo, she is precious!

I'm in the process of up loading a few videos of Nero doing his evening cuddle time. He adores his daddy! He is rolling all over my husband and rubbing that very cute face of his all over my husband. Then he comes to check in with me, attack my phone, then right back to loving his daddy.

Nero has been here just over a month, so I really have a long way to go with these sounds. Lol Nero was talking to his daddy while cuddling, but I came in and could not get it on recording.

I would think the new videos are going to the same link I already posted. Thanks for everyone's help!

Haha i think we all start out like that, very paranoid, thinking everything we are doing is wrong :o Gets easier i promise ;) Kinda like new parents!

Thank you very much! :) Just started off with very basic tricks, shaking hands, waving, turning around..

But he learnt them so quickly, so started figuring out harder things to do, and he had no problem!

Haven't learnt anything for a few months now, he learns to quickly i run out of new tricks

I think training just helps with the bonding process, plus keeps their brain thinking, and i guess makes basic training easy?

If you have a bird who will do a few tricks and enjoys training, then i think you will find they are much easier to handle when they are older! :)

You will see in the video in my palm i have little treats? They are just pecan nuts, snapped into small bite size pieces, he absolutely loves them, so it's just a quick reward he can eat once he does the trick! :)
