Echo, my 10 month old green cheek conure, has just developed a new activity, flying to framed photos and holding on to/nibbling on the frame. Some of our frames are old/antique with golden coloured paint, so we don't want him to get sick of nibbling on that. His cage is always open when we are at home, so he can fly wherever he wants to. So I am wondering -- can I teach echo to stay away from certain places? We immediately take him and put him on his cage or play stand when he flies to places we don't want him to be, and we reward him when he's playing and sitting on places where he is allowed to be. But he keeps flying back to places that's not good for him to be.
Is there a better way to teach him?
