Ava and Sheik wrestling video and first words!

Hello! Its been a really long time since I have posted, but I wanted to update you guys on my two white bellied caiques, Ava and Sheik. They are almost 2 now!

They have now incorporated flight into their play time.

They can both say "what" now and Ava is working on "hi".

The black crate is the bottom of their cage. I was cleaning it before they jumped in the sink. Ava has never willingly went under water before!

Really cute birds and videos and thank you for sharing that bath video. I never would have thought of something like that, What a great idea going to try that with my group. Thanks for sharing

How utterly adorable! Made me smile from ear to ear to see them play- wrestling and hopping around like little road runners. Oh boy, they can get quite rough at times, no? TOO precious!!

And listen to the cutest sound when Ava said "what".

Adorable! Thank you for these videos. They are too cute when caiques play and wrestle. I just wish wish WISH that caiques wasnt illegal in Hawaii or id already have one. =(

Thank you everyone! They are learning new things so quickly, but I can't believe they are already 2 in January! They make me smile every day, I'm so lucky to have them in my lives. I know how much I (and my girls) love watching videos of other birds, so I just wanted to share. And yes, they do get pretty rough sometimes, haha. It scared me to death at first, but I've gotten used to it.

robopetz- I didn't know it was illegal in Hawaii to own Caiques. That is so sad! I wonder why that is?

It is very sad. It has something to do with preserving the wildlife and plants that are here and only here in Hawaii. We cant have parrotlettes, caiques, certain parakeets and thats just to name a few there is a looooong list of birds that are illegal here. We cant even have hamsters or ferrets either. I had a ferret when I lived in KY for over a year and he was the bestest ferret ever. Treated him as if he was a house cat or dog he was never caged. Miss that lil fellow. Anywho, sorry im rambling here hahhah. Im just saying yall get to keep all the cool animals. We are just limited to cat birds dogs and fish. Oh, I so wanted to get a sugar glider when I was in KY.

I feel for you and hear you. When my husband was still in the military he had the option of getting stationed in either Hawaii or Germany. Of course HE wanted to go to Hawaii, but I wouldn't have been able to take my cockatiel with me...and my dog would have had to be quarantined for 6 months, and THAT was out of the question.
