Don’t ask me if I did anything special or different. I just had him out of the cage for a very long time today...I had bought him a cool new toy in the morning...and all of a sudden...

I could rub his right cheek with my fingertip to his total delight, then his left, and a few seconds later...I could grab his entire damn head from both sides and give him a sailors’ special full massage with what I imagine turned into a Happy Ending.

If I was a woman, this must be the same joy that one experiences when giving birth.

Solid progress being made there! I always find the little spot between eye and beak to be a fave spot to scratch, but being a girl I have a few extra millimetres of fingernail which may make all the difference there!

Well, a few hours later, and Archie changed his mind about the whole thing.

We’ll see what happens later today!

Haha NOPE. I’ve given birth and I’ve experienced the joy of my bestie-bird requesting (demanding) skritches. Birth is not that fun. Having the human that comes with it is great, but the birth-not so much.

I apologize for the terrible analogy!

I was just so excited!

Hahaha you’re forgiven. Trust me, I will never forget the first time Bumble came up and lowered her head in the direction of my thumb and waited. Sheer bliss.

I’ll also never forget the first time my human child spontaneously told me she loved me. It’s all good.
