April is part of the Amazon gang at the shelter. Finally convinced her she wanted to come out. I had spent the last month or so being able to scratch her head through the bars. This last week or two I've been able to open the top door and reach in for head scratches without getting killed. Last time I let her reach down and touch my hand no biting and she was letting me touch her feet without flipping. So I spent 10 minutes touching her feet and talking before asking her to step up. She got nervous so I wedged my fingers between her and the perch and up and out we came. Of course she didn't want to go back in after hanging out. When I finally dumped her on the top door after prying her feet off my hand she ran back over and cuddled under my chin. Felt bad about forcing her back in Hopefully I didn't create another Kelly

I know April lets another woman at the shelter scratch her head through the bars after I started doing it with her all the time. Maybe I'll see if she will work with her too on coming out for her. I know she went Amazon on anyone that tried to touch her while I had her out on Friday. She does a better tail display than Kelly...April needs to work on the growl though, Kelly is better at it

Victoria, you really have a knack for getting through to the most frightened and unsocialized of birds! Looks like you have another feathered admirer on your hands!
