Yeah she is a doll and she really is a magna she has so much yellow and she is only 11 months old

Apple is a beautiful DYH!
So the ones I hear of called "Magna" Double Yellow Head have more extensive yellow? Is it a subspecies?

Yes I know magna have more yellow I dont know if they are a sub species though

Apple is gorgeous!!! Magna is a sub specie! I'm not super familiar with Amazons, but from what I've read they develop more yellow as they mature. But the Magna and Tres Maria are very similar but should be able to tell the difference as he mature.

Apple is such a GORGEOUS Magna girl!!!! And Kiah is SUCH a handsome boy!!! :D

Isn't it amazing to see how they develop their yellow on their head? I know her shoulder coverts have gotten a lot more colorful since Apple came home, too.

Thank you so much for the photos. I'm smiling from one ear to the next. :D

My Sam (also a Magna) is going to be 2 in a few days, here's a photo of him:

Please don't be a stranger. I know you're going through so much at the moment, just drop by every now and again, would you? :)

Apple is a beautiful girl and I love her name:D Looks like she's settling right in with your family. I think it's so nice Kiah will get to grow up with her a bit too. I always like to see birds in homes with kids:) It will be neat to watch her yellow spread as she grows older since she is such a young bird. DYHs are my *favorite* amazons, such funny, loving birds. And so long as you take good care of her, she will be with your family for a very long time:) My parents have had their DYH (who is possibly a magna, but she was wild caught so who knows) for over 40 years, and I grew up with her (and their 2 other birds). Lucy is at least 45, but could be even older and she's just as healthy and active as ever-

Best of luck to you, your son and Apple.

We've missed YOU!!!! I'm happy you're slowly settling in. Give it time, take one day at a time, and give all your love to Kiah and Apple. :)

Sam is wearing the Aviator harness in that photo. :)
