apple cider vinegar bath

has anyone tried to combat mites with apple cider vinegar and water solution bath? i read in avianweb someone used it and proven to be good. if its true than it might be a better way than using medication.

Sometimes ANY good bath (and cage cleaning) can get rid of them depending on the type of mites.

My sparrows (I raise sparrows at work) almost always come in covered in mites - and those from the farm nesting next to the chickens always come in with chicken fleas. But after a quick bath (just q-tip and water) and nest change they are gone.
