Introducing Corky

We've not had a great history with greys. One died of pbfd and another due to a head trauma when he flew into a wall, so I didn't think we'd ever have another one.

This one is being given to us by a friend of a co-worker. First order of business is a new cage. He's 15 and belonged to the wife's grandma before she passed away. They've done their best to care for him for the past year, but have decided they aren't equipped for life with a parrot.

We'll be picking him up Thursday.

Hi Corky! You are going to be so very happy in your new home!

Looking forward to seeing many more photos of you as you settle in.

Hello Corky, you handsome fellow!

Congratulations, Karen! What a nice addition to your beautiful flock! Looking forward to seeing lots of photos.

Congrats on Corky :)! I hope a certain blue and yellow someone doesn't get TOO jealous lol!

Thank you everyone! We're excited about getting him. He hasn't been sexed, but my partner thinks he looks like a male. We're planning on changing his name, but want to get to know him better. He hasn't been handled in a few years, but they do let him out of the cage regularly, so he's not cage bound.

Sweet, K1! Corky has most definitely hit the jackpot! I'm so glad that you're opening your heart and home to another Grey! I know he'll get all of the love and attenion he's been missing up until now.

Hasn't been handled in a few years? (Poor thing) Is Corky even handtame? If not, I know you'll get him there soon enough.

Looking forward to nore pics!

He started out hand-tame and then her grandmother died and her mom got him. She didn't want him, so gave him to her daughter and her daughter tried to do the best she knew how, but has zero parrot experience and they were afraid of him, so he didn't get handled. Greys are funny anyway. They really aren't normally snuggly. (Laura's Willow is an exception.) They like to be in the middle of things, talked to, plenty of toys and the occasional head scratch.

Karen is very good with greys, so I don't doubt she'll have him coming around in no time. I'm looking forward to having another grey in the house. I miss all the sounds they make. Though if this one learns the smoke detector like Beau did I'm thinking I won't be saying that :)

Aww, he's cute! He really looks healthy. Glad he landed in such a parrot-savy home. Looking forward to hearing about him.

What a handsome guy I am so happy the family thought of his best interest and got him to both of you. He hit the jackpot for sure!!:D

Karen, I am so thrilled for you,Karen and Corky! He is a beautiful boy and I have a feeling he is going to fit right into your flock. Can't wait to see more pictures after you pick him up!

Dear Corky,
If you think you were loved before, you just wait. You're in for the time of your life. See they are already talking about a new cage. I foresee being spoiled in your future.

Congrates!!

Congratulations! :)

Funny how we make our own minds up about things and then circumstance comes along ;) Clearly you were in the right place at the right time and meant to be. Have to say though, LOVE his name lol, might add that to my list for the next fid :p
