Okay, so tonight I checked out a Craig's list ad thinking it could be Maggie.
He's a four year old mle grenwing. Doesn't appear to have been handled much at all, IF EVER... I did open the cage door and play with him. He wasn't aggressive, but didn't know what to do. Didn't know step up. Wouldn't allow touching. Enjoyed beak play. Probably hasn't had much attention, so he was pretty much fascinated when made the center of attention. Didn't lunge or try to bite me.
He's in perfect feather, but could use a bath. The cage is too small. The diet is terrible. He has a lot of potential. I could probably rehab this bird in two to three weeks.
I am not in a position to take on a project right now, especially with a new baby on the way. But I'm willing to help. They're asking 1200, but you can probably get this bird for 1000 or less.
He is a project but he has potential. He isn't terribly aggressive. He just needs attention, handling and socialization. Like I say, if you're local, I'd be willing to do the basics in two weeks, just to get him out of that situation. He could be a GREAT bird for someone with a little bit of patience.
