Hello Kay, NY and NJ are pretty big states, you might try ebay classifieds, you can look in your area and other areas across both states, many breeders advertise there, once you find something just be careful, there are a lot of scammers out there, and please make sure you take someone with you whenever meeting anyone from an online ad.......Good Luck!

Word of warning from experience -- there are many scammers out there claiming to sell AG because they are so valuable. I ran into one when I was looking. Said she would ship two AG to me "at my door". All I had to do was pay her $500 shipping cost up front. Now I know I would have never seen that bird. I will give you a link to the very experienced and reliable breeder in Fla. She will let you know about how the bird could get to your state.
She has been breeding the African birds for over 20 years.

I actually found a breeder in NJ and was talking to her all night lastnight through email. Im picking the baby grey up on Aug 16th =-)
