Parrots
One Pineapple Conure.
Hatched late 2018.
We had our usual time out in the kitchen, during which time I snipped some old leaves off a houseplant,Connie ran across to the cuttings and I quickly swept them away from her, well what a performance, she threw a real wobbly beak open, ruffed feathers, running towards my hand! Its a wonder she didnt stamp her foot! The funny thing is its forgotten in seconds,up to my neck for a cwtch!
(Welsh for cuddle).

She sounds like an absolute fire cracker! And I bet she's very very cute with her temper tantrum x

I have just discovered albie is addicted to banana chips. If he hears the packet just being moved he lands on who ever is moving it. I've also caught in the bag helping him self!

They are so entertaining to watch and be with

GCC are no Shrinking violet lol
Mine ttys to grab my glass, and pulls like the hulk! How is that tiny body so strong?!!!

Yes exactly Laurasea! Connie can pull scissors from the cutlery drawer, one of her favourite perches, they arent scared of anything!

That is so funny! I am looking forward to bringing my GCC home mid-April and learning about his little tantrums, LOL!

lollypoppy you are in for a big learning curve! I had only kept Canaries, and many years ago inherited a Cockatiel. I chose a Conure because they dont produce feather dust, hubby has breathing probs. But what some little characters! You just have to read Stitchthestitch posts,as shes just had her baby, and hes adorable.
I can imagine how excited you are,is it a baby you are waiting for?

My JoJo’s best tantrum. I was sitting on the bed with him on my shoulder. My phone rang and answering it I put him on the bed. He stomped over to a hanky, started shaking it, then threw it off the bed! Looking at me, he could see I was quite obviously thinking he was funny, so, feet first flew into my face!

Hahaha! Yes coming from a lovebird and parrotlet I think this will be a very big change!
At the pet store I used to work at I played with the conures quite a bit, but that’s entirely different from being a full time momma to one!
My little guy I am adopting is 3.5 years old! He turns 4 in November. He is semi-hand tame, with some cage aggression & a preference toward 1 person. Just waiting because we have to plan safe transport from about an hour away, amid the virus going on, so we’re making sure it’s a totally safe hand off where I can still absorb as much more info as possible :)

Yes,I guess it will be a handover at the door, we picked Connie up in a cat carrier, and she really enjoyed the ride, they love something different.
I believe they can be a bit cage protective, which is understandable as its their own space.
I usually do the cleaning out with her on my shoulder, with her checking everything is as it should be.
All good luck to you on your pick up,look forward to hearing how it goes.
