~18 year old cuban amazon
Hello! A few months ago, i made a post concerning my 19 year old Cuban Amazonā€™s poop changing colors, but that concern has resolved due to it just being caused by her change in diet with colorful foods and pellets.

But today a new, more concerning issue has arisen. About 45 minutes ago, i took her to a vet for nail trimming where she dropped a solid yet bubbly, brown poop (not pictured), the vet told me it wasnā€™t a big deal and that she was just nervous from the bumpy ride and change in scenery. Now the concerning part was when i came back ~15 minutes later to pick her up and bring her home, i noticed she had a couple more brown droppings that were noticeably different from her greener and more uniformed poops from this morning, pre-visit. When we finally got home and she was back in her room, she dropped the poop that i have attached as a picture. I canā€™t really make out what iā€™m seeing there other than what looks to be undigested food (though iā€™m not sure whatsoever as i canā€™t find any similar images online)

Immediately I began to freak out as i have never seen her produce feces that even slightly similar to this. My family members are telling me to calm down as she just ate right before her nail trimming and itā€™d be logical to assume she was just extremely nervous and stressed from being held by the vet after peacefully eating her breakfast.

Sheā€™s been home for a probably about 30 minutes since we arrived from the vet and looks to be content, lots of preening, lots of beak grinding, lots of singing and chirping, still the same appetite. I texted the vetā€™s personal number and he told me that he promises she is okay and that as the day goes on they will normalize as she was just highly stressed, but you can only tell so much from an image so Iā€™m still skeptical.

Iā€™ll continue monitoring her droppings and behavior throughout the day.

If anyone can offer some advice or calming words until the vet opens back up tomorrow, itā€™d be much appreciated!

edit: the poop does not have an odor to it

My cockatiels first trip to the vet made her poop bubbly. I cant remember what color it was. I dont worry too much about color because her diet varies from day to day. Her urates from time to time will look like those in your picture. The poop doesnā€™t look like undigested food to me. It just looks broken as opposed to one long piece. Im sure poop will normalize before too long.
Like you family members said, for some birds going to the vet is extremely stressful. Some birds even get car sick.

thank you! iā€™ll keep my eyes on her to see how she continues to do

most recent poo update

green color from her food has returned, but volume is minuscule. shape/form looks very different from her big healthy poops, the feces portion is almost completely flat. if this can provide any hints as too what this could potentially be, any advice would be appreciated

newest dropping, from around 3 minutes ago. much bigger in size compared to the previous post (previous droppings pictured in the left and top left of this image)

This new one looks more like her usual poop size but itā€™s a much darker green color than normal

Im glad things are returning to normal.
I knew they would. Are you feeling better now?

Us parronts can be as bad as first time human baby parents when it comes to our babies' poops! When a bird is nervous and stressed the gi tract speeds up causing the strange looking poop in the first picture. Then, the next poops are smaller because most of the stuff already came out. Now it's back to normal.
You should see the huge strange looking poops my female budgies produce when they're very hormonal and laying eggs- they look like they came out of a bird the size of a small Amazon!

I agree with above! I keep track of every detail too. Take care of the both of you.

update: As she continued to drink water and eat, her poops returned to normal throughout the course of the day.

thank you you very much, everyone
